From pizza to party - how Pascal from Leipzig discovered CARLA for himself.
The story
Pascal from Leipzig is not only a passionate record collector, DJ and master baker, but also the founder of “Backstein - Bäckerei für zeitgenössisches Brot”. His creative journey began with a mobile pizzeria called “Radio Napoli”, but that was just the start of an unusual success story.
During his apprenticeship as a baker, an Italian friend gave Pascal the idea of building a pedal-powered pizza bike. His Christiania bike was already a faithful companion, but he was looking for a solution with even more load capacity - and came across CARLA, a versatile heavy-duty trailer. In collaboration with Markus, the trailer was modified so that it could carry a pizza oven. Pascal was and is one of the first 10 CARLA customers ever.
For two years, Pascal rolled through Leipzig with CARLA, baking pizzas and gaining experience, before finally becoming a master baker and founding the “Backstein” bakery. Relocated to the garden of the Gallery of Contemporary Art, the bakery quickly became a meeting place for bread lovers and music fans. Using a borrowed PA system, Pascal regularly invited DJs until the events became so popular that he preferred to plan at short notice to keep visitor numbers in check.
The Setup
However, the dream of a mobile sound system never left him. In the summer of 2023, he made it a reality: with the support of a Leipzig-based sound system hobbyist and the expertise of Newfidelity, he created an analog hi-fi system that offers up to 10 hours of carbon-neutral sound enjoyment. The basis for this was, of course, a CARLA!
The result: an analog hi-fi system that not only impresses with its clear sound, but also offers up to 10 hours of CO₂-free music enjoyment – thanks to electricity from renewable sources, which it draws from his bakery.
The basis for the sound system is a CARLA without a motor, as Pascal now relies on a team of eBullit and CARLA for transportation and deliveries. This team can easily handle loads of up to 200 kg, making transportation pleasant and efficient.
While CARLA #1 serves as a mobile bar table in front of the bakery, CARLA #2 is used for parties in Leipzig. In the future, it will also be used as a bread delivery van. Pascal particularly appreciates the flexibility and sustainability of this solution, which perfectly suits his lifestyle and creative projects.

Mobile 2.1 sound system for providing sound at small events and dance events with up to 200 people.
Thanks to the integrated battery system, wireless sound is possible for 6 to 10 hours. Despite the compact design and mobile orientation, no acoustic compromises have been made. The subwoofer can remain flexibly in the DJ desk or be pulled out via a rail, depending on the volume requirements.
The tops offer a particularly wide dispersion, so that the audience can also gather in the immediate vicinity of the sound system. The amplifiers are DSP-controlled, which means that the sound can be flexibly adjusted at any time. This also allows for optimal indoor use, as the system can be perfectly adapted to the room acoustics.

Every trip with the CARLA, passing the traffic jam, is a real feeling of happiness. Even though I still drive from time to time, every trip with the CARLA surpasses the usual comfort of the car. My highlight: In summer, we organized a party for around 200 people entirely with cargo bikes and CARLAs - sustainable, flexible and simply great! (Image credits: Anne-Katrin Hutschenreuter)
