Federal funding – BAFA is back!
BAFA is back! Get funding for your CARLA plus body now! The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) implements numerous funding programs each year. These programs make an important contribution to climate protection and the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The funding program for cargo trailers and cargo bikes—which allows you to receive up to 25% or up to €3,500 in funding for your CARLA—is now back. And the best part: all current CARLA CARGO models are eligible!

FAQ's Federal Funding BAFA
- 25% of the purchase price
- up to a maximum of 3500
- in principle, all facilities that serve the purpose of transporting goods
- only sales stands, information desks, etc. with no transportation issue of a good are not supported
- private companies regardless of their legal form / corporations / institutions under public law
- No private individuals / associations / local authorities (municipalities, etc.)
- eCARLA, eCARLA OR and eCARLA maxi without a towing bicycle
- CARLA, CARLA mini and CARLA maxi can only be subsidized in combination with an e-cargo bike
- The purchase must serve the transportation of goods (goods, tools, etc.)
- Unfortunately, no sales stands or sales/information stands are allowed
Yes, the subsidy applies per bike here is the answer from BAFA: By increasing the maximum subsidy amount to 3,500 euros per bike, larger e-cargo bikes and e-cargo bike trailers that can transport large and/or particularly heavy loads are now better subsidized.

Project-related expenses include:
- Safety equipment such as a security lock, rearview mirror, high-quality lighting, bicycle helmet.
- Battery upgrade (second battery, battery with more power)
- Upgrade of handles, saddle, tires
- Structure (box, flatbed, or similar)
- GPS tracker
- Shipping and packaging
You make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria for BAFA funding -> You get a suitable offer from us and also from other companies (e.g. bicycle freight) to realize your project -> You apply online via the BAFA portal -> If your application is approved, you can obtain your CARLA from us -> After delivery, photo documentation is provided and the funding is usually transferred very quickly. The processing time varies greatly depending on when the application is received. However, we assume a maximum processing time of 4 weeks, although it is currently much faster. However, this always requires that the application documents are complete and require no further clarification.
