The solution
With CARLA, the district chapter has found a solution that can be flexibly adapted to the various tasks involved in day-to-day nature conservation. And, of course, it had to match the BUND Naturschutz look: The CARLA was designed in BN green, making it not only a work tool but also a real eye-catcher on Munich’s streets.
In everyday use, it transports plants, gravel, soil, sand, watering cans, tools, and transport trays throughout the city. It can even carry up to 200 liters of water for watering new plantings.
There’s even room on the CARLA for entire information booths, complete with informational materials. And when grass clippings need to be hauled away after maintaining a green space, it’s quickly put to another use—as a “hay wagon” right in the middle of Munich.
It is precisely this versatility that makes all the difference for the district group. Many transport tasks can be completed in a single trip, whereas previously several trips would have been necessary. At the same time, the CARLA can be used by many different people on the team.
This saves time, reduces emissions, and makes daily nature conservation work significantly more flexible.
In this way, CARLA helps transport exactly what makes Munich a little greener.
